By Afzal Usmani It will not be an exaggeration to say that Maulana Hamiduddin Farahi is the most celebrated Quranic scholar Mohammadan Anglo Oriental College and Aligarh Muslim University have ever produced. He is known for his groundbreaking work on the concept of Nazm, or Coherence in the Quran. He was instrumental in producing highly scholarly works, which proved that the verses of the Quran are interconnected in such a way that the Surah, or Chapters, of the Quran form a coherent structure, having its
By Sheikh Muhammad Saleem Dhorat hafizahullÄh Children are a Blessing Being gifted with children is a great blessing from AllÄh ta'ÄlÄ. For any blessing we receive we need to do shukr, i.e. be grateful to AllÄh ta'ÄlÄ. True shukr meets the following requirements: 1. Realise the blessing is the result of the Grace of AllÄh ta'ÄlÄ and that it has come to you without your being deserving of it. 2. Acknowledge your gratitude in your heart and express it verbally as well. 3. Use the blessin
HUMAN society has reached to the state of complete moral bankruptcy, especially after great global economic disaster of 2008-09. It needs men of character in every field of life to set its house in order and deliver goodness in each and every sector to make its abode worth living with dignity and honor.
AT the end of the sixth century AD humanity was facing a very depressed and deprived condition. There was no Guidance from its Creator and Sustainer to guide its destiny as all were “lost†or mutilated due to human interpolation. There was no Kingdom of God on earth to deliver justice and equity to human abode. There was no concept of human rights and no court of justice to take care of their violations every now and then.
EVERY living and non-living thing in this world obeys Almighty Allah (God). It is built in their nature. There is no alternative choice but to obey and surrender to the will of Allah (swt). You will never find an animal or a bird involved in same-sex relationship or engaged in any kind of unnatural behavior.
IT is strange that, with all that has been written about Prophet Muhammadﷺ (peace upon him), the world still does not know about the unparalleled personality of the last messenger of Allah and compassionate leader of humanity. Allah has given him the title of “mercy for the two worlds†and has called him gracious and merciful.
(From the Book Seerat Sarwar e Aalamï·º) We see in big cities that hundreds of factories are running on electricity. Trains and Trams are running. In the evening, immediately thousands of lights are brightened. In summers, fans run in every house. However, these events do not arouse a feeling of awe in us nor do any differences arise among us on the cause of their running and brightening. Why so?
WHEN Muhammadﷺﷺ became Prophet, women of that time were deprived of their human rights. They were just a comfort material for men and a source of entertainment. The men kept and treated them as they wished. Men were disappointed and ashamed at the birth of a girl and buried them alive. In the Qur’an, Allah says: “And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked for what sin she was killed†(81: 8-9).
By Imam Zaid Shakir WHEN we talk about Islamic education and our children, the discussion usually revolves around strictly academic issues related to technical aspects of curriculum development, testing standards and methodologies, balancing between secular and religious education, and similar concerns. Sometimes we miss the greater objective of an Islamic education.
The kindness and compassion of Prophet Muhammadﷺ (peace upon him) was such that he commanded ethical principles in events requiring physical fighting. For example: “While entering the enemy area, do not raise your hand against any child, old person, patient or wounded person. Do not raise your eyes towards a woman. Do not cut any fruit-bearing trees. Do not sacrifice any milk-giving animal, and do not ruin a population.
(Al Quran 7:73) “And to Thamud, We sent forth their brother. Salih. He said to them: '0 my people! Serve Allah; you have no other god than Him. Truly there has come to you a clear proof from your Lord. This she-camel from Allah is a Divine portent for you. So leave her alone to pasture on Allah's earth, and touch her with no evil lest a painful chastisement should seize you.â€
By Syed Abul A'ala Maududi (Translated from the book "Seerat Sarwar e Aalam") We see in the Holy Quran that prophet after prophet came and called their people towards only one thing: “O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him.â€
(From the Book Seerat Sarwar e Aalamï·º) THE Lord of creation, the Creator and Sovereign of the entire universe, created man* on earth (which is merely a part of His boundless realm). He also endowed man with understanding, with the ability to distinguish between the good and evil, with the freedom of choice and volition, and with the power to exercise his latent potentialities. In short, Allah bestowed upon man a kind of autonomy and appointed him His vicegerent on earth.
By MawlÄnÄ Muhammad Saleem Dhorat hafizahullÄh If we study the lives of the pious servants of AllÄh ta'ÄlÄ, i.e. the AmbiyÄ, SahÄbah radhiyallÄhu 'anhum, the MuhaddithÅ«n, FuqahÄ, AwliyÄ, we will find one common factor in their lives, and that is their concern for securing Husn-ul-KhÄtimah so that they are successful in the Court of AllÄh ta'ÄlÄ. Despite their lives being full of virtue, they would worry and pray for death in the state of Ä«mÄn and IslÄm.
(From the Book Seerat Sarwar e Aalamﷺ) (Quran 16:9 part) It rests with Allah alone to show you the Right Way, even when there are many crooked ways. This contains an argument for Prophethood along with a proof of Tauhid (unity and oneness of God) and of Allah’s compassion and providence. The argument is this:
