Junaid Jamshed, A legend and Daee of Islam Dies in Plane Crash

By Farina Siddiqui

Junaid Jamshed, the famous Nasheed (Islamic song) artist, a legend, and famous Daee of  Islam died today with his wife  in a plane crash. Pakistan International airlines (PIA) plane PK-661 carrying 46 passengers returning from Chitral to Islamabad crashed on mountains near Hawelian Abotabad Pakistan.

Junaid Jamshed was 52.

May Allah SWT sends them to the highest level of paradise and give strength to their families.

A learning moment!!

Every event should be a lesson to us if our hearts are alive. Allah calls those who do not ponder over things around them as dead.   Anyone can say Alhamdolillah on happy news and Inna   Lillah on sad but only an alive heart will get lesson from these events.

Junaid Jamshed, may Allah have mercy upon him and all others who died,  have taught us a valuable lesson.  No one knows when a person's time is up.  Before our time comes, turn to Allah.  Not tomorrow.  Not in an hour.  Even not in a minute.   Now at this moment!!  May Allah make us understand the true value of this life and forgive our shortcomings.  Ameen

Junaid Jamshed

May Allah reward late Br. Junaid Jamshed for producing this master piece. I must admit that this Nasheed was one of the biggest contributer for turning my life upside. It contributed very strongly in shaping me as a person I am today.

Listening and singing it over and over and pondering over it made 3 huge changes in my life:

- I started seriously learning Quran and researching on what it tells us as a word of God Almighty. Took me 3 years to finish the entire tafseer but it opened my eyes and my brain.

- I started wearing hijab with all the determination that I have today Alhamdolillah. Then in the same year I was granted the opportunity for Hajj.

- It made me realize how as human beings, God Almighty didn't send us down  to earn, eat and die without any purpose. He sent us down to please HIM by being good humans, to be kind to each other, to put others and their issues on top of ourselves and most importantly to work fearlessly and selflessly for our fellow human beings

Today, I owe lots of prayers to this brother as an inspiration. I never saw him or his songs as another album I could put on during my car rides. I saw them as wake up calls. As huge thought provoking  rhymes.

I didn't see him as a fashion icon frantically buying his brands to show off. I saw him as a preacher of the true Islam. He was the reason for thousands of us to reclaim our religion from bigots by spreading the goodness God Almighty has sent down with us with a serious obligation.

If he made any difference to your lives, please make dua for him and his family.
