Qura'nic Concept of Education and Our Education System

THE prevalent education system of the world (both of East and West) lowered the character of the people at the lowest and brought the world at its complete destruction. Human beings of the “modern world” are behaving worse than beasts. No other creature of the world ever harms its own flock. However, humans are ready to destroy and cleanse out their own races.  There is something seriously faulty in the education system.

It is surprising to note that Muslim world, the so-called Islamic states, and Muslim societies are adopting the same education system that is created by the Shaitan, who desired to fail human races. It is established in the Muslim world and societies that there is no alternate of western and liberal secular education and Muslim intellectuals and people of knowledge are failed to present the alternative.

Whatever the intellectual status of Muslims are, we know for sure that we have “the Book (Al-Quran)” that gives us intellectual edge to all others. However, there is only one condition; study it with understanding and apply it.

A large number of Muslims abandoned the Book in a way that it is placed at highest shelf of the rack with respect and just for blessing and reward. Some of them also are misguided in understanding and false perception that “this book is only for high scholars of Islam and not for the general people.” However, the fact is opposite.

Quran repeatedly says:

وَ لَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْاٰنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُّدَّكِرٍ


“We have made this Qur’an easy as a reminder.  Is there, then, any who will take heed?”  Surah Al Qamar (54: 17, 22, 32, 40)

وَ لَقَدْ اَنْزَلْنَاۤ اِلَيْكَ اٰيٰتٍۭ بَيِّنٰتٍ١ۚ وَ مَا يَكْفُرُ بِهَاۤ اِلَّا الْفٰسِقُوْنَ


“We have sent down to you Revelations that clearly expound the Truth, and none but the disobedient reject them.” Surah Al-Baqara (2: 99)

نَزَّلَ عَلَيْكَ الْكِتٰبَ بِالْحَقِّ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَ اَنْزَلَ التَّوْرٰىةَ وَ الْاِنْجِيْلَۙ  مِنْ قَبْلُ هُدًى لِّلنَّاسِ وَ اَنْزَلَ الْفُرْقَانَ١ؕ۬ نَّ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا بِاٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيْدٌ١ؕ وَ اللّٰهُ عَزِيْزٌ ذُو انْتِقَامٍ


“He has revealed this Book to you, setting forth the truth and confirming the earlier Books, and earlier He revealed the Torah and Gospel for the guidance of mankind; and He has also revealed the Criterion (to distinguish truth from falsehood). A severe chastisement lies in store for those who deny the signs of Allah. Allah is All-Mighty; He is the Lord of Retribution.” Surah Al-i’Imran (3: 3-4)

We have to do one thing. We have to fix our education system according to the guidelines and concept of the education system provided by Al- Quran. After that, the journey of human beings will start towards success, happiness, eternal life of Heaven, and real development and prosperity.  This is the way the people of this world will return back to   swa’as sabeel (the right, middle, and balanced path).

The reason:

اِنَّمَا يَخْشَى اللّٰهَ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ الْعُلَمٰٓؤُاؕ

“Only those fear Allah, from among His servants, who have knowledge. Surah Fatir (35: 28)

 

Knowledge of the “Source of Knowledge”


According to Quran, the Source of the knowledge is Allah (s.t.) Himself.

اِنَّمَا يَخْشَى اللّٰهَ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ الْعُلَمٰٓؤُاؕ

 “----and He is Knowing of all things.” Surah Al-Baqara (2: 29),

اِنَّ اللّٰهَ كَانَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيْمًا

“Indeed Allah is ever, of all things, Knowing.” An-Nisaa (4: 32),

اَنَّ اللّٰهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِي السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ مَا فِي الْاَرْضِ وَ اَنَّ اللّٰهَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيْمٌ

“Allah knows what is in the heavens and what is in the earth and that Allah is Knowing of all things.”  Surah Al-Maida (5: 97)

لَهٗ مَا فِي السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ مَا فِي الْاَرْضِ١ؕ مَنْ ذَا الَّذِيْ يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهٗۤ اِلَّا بِاِذْنِهٖ١ؕ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ اَيْدِيْهِمْ وَ مَا خَلْفَهُمْ١ۚ وَ لَا يُحِيْطُوْنَ بِشَيْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهٖۤ اِلَّا بِمَا شَآءَ١ۚ

“To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills.”  Surah Al-Baqara (2: 255)


وَ اللّٰهُ عَلِيْمٌ حَكِيْمٌ

“And Allah is Knowing and Wise.”  Surah An-Nisaa (4: 26),

وَ عِنْدَهٗ مَفَاتِحُ الْغَيْبِ لَا يَعْلَمُهَاۤ اِلَّا هُوَ١ؕ وَ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِي الْبَرِّ وَ الْبَحْرِ١ؕ وَ مَا تَسْقُطُ مِنْ وَّرَقَةٍ اِلَّا يَعْلَمُهَا وَ لَا حَبَّةٍ فِيْ ظُلُمٰتِ الْاَرْضِ وَ لَا رَطْبٍ وَّ لَا يَابِسٍ اِلَّا فِيْ كِتٰبٍ مُّبِيْنٍ


“With Him are the keys of the unseen, the treasures that none knows but He. He knows whatever there is on the earth and in the sea. Not a leaf doth fall but with His knowledge: there is not a grain in the darkness (or depths) of the earth, nor anything fresh or dry (green or withered), but is (inscribed) in a record clear (to those who can read).” Surah Al-An’am ( 6: 59)

وَ لَقَدْ جِئْنٰهُمْ بِكِتٰبٍ فَصَّلْنٰهُ عَلٰى عِلْمٍ هُدًى وَّ رَحْمَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يُّؤْمِنُوْنَ

“And We had certainly brought them a Book which We detailed by knowledge - as guidance and mercy to a people who believe.” Surah Al-A’raf (7: 52)



Hence, the source of the sea of knowledge is the Book, Al-Quran, the author of the Book is Allah (s.t.).

ذٰلِكَ الْكِتٰبُ لَا رَيْبَ١ۛۖۚ فِيْهِ١ۛۚ


“This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah.” Surah Al-Baqarah (2: 2)

And this Book is granted to be retained and protected forever.

 اِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَ اِنَّا لَهٗ لَحٰفِظُوْنَ

“Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be its guardian.” (15: 9)


Therefore, we have a basic, clean, unaltered and doubtless Book to believe and practice. Understanding of the Book (Al-Quran) should be top priority in the education system and curriculum. As Muslims, it is our obligation. There is no faith without knowledge, and the faith is incomplete without knowledge.  Quran has set it the first condition and a prerequisite for believers to believe in the Source of Knowledge.

وَ الَّذِيْنَ يُؤْمِنُوْنَ بِمَاۤ اُنْزِلَ اِلَيْكَ وَ مَاۤ اُنْزِلَ مِنْ قَبْلِكۚ

“And who believe in what has been revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what was revealed before you, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith]. Surah Al-Baqarah (2: 4)

وَ اٰمِنُوْا بِمَاۤ اَنْزَلْتُ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا مَعَكُمْ

“And believe in what I have sent down confirming that which is [already] with you, and be not the first to disbelieve in it. And do not exchange My signs for a small price, and fear [only] Me.” Surah Al-Baqarah (2: 41)

اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ يَكْتُمُوْنَ مَاۤ اَنْزَلْنَا مِنَ الْبَيِّنٰتِ وَ الْهُدٰى مِنْۢ بَعْدِ مَا بَيَّنّٰهُ لِلنَّاسِ فِي الْكِتٰبِ١ۙ اُولٰٓىِٕكَ يَلْعَنُهُمُ اللّٰهُ وَ يَلْعَنُهُمُ اللّٰعِنُوْنَۙ   اِلَّا الَّذِيْنَ تَابُوْا وَ اَصْلَحُوْا وَ بَيَّنُوْا فَاُولٰٓىِٕكَ اَتُوْبُ عَلَيْهِمْ١ۚ وَ اَنَا التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيْمُ

“Indeed, those who conceal what We sent down of clear proofs and guidance after We made it clear for the people in the Scripture - those are cursed by Allah and cursed by those who curse. Except for those who repent and correct themselves and make evident [what they concealed]. Those - I will accept their repentance, and I am the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.” Surah Al-Baqarah (2: 159-160)

Quran presents itself as a guidance of all, all human kind, therefore it is imperative that our educational institutions/schools be open to all and the understanding of Quran should get prime importance in the syllabus and curriculum.

اَلَّذِيْنَ اٰتَيْنٰهُمُ الْكِتٰبَ يَتْلُوْنَهٗ حَقَّ تِلَاوَتِهٖؕ

 “Those to whom We have sent the Book study it as it should be studied.” Surah Al-Baqarah (2: 121)


The Knowledge of the Teacher of “the Knowledge”

Allah has not dropped the Book from sky. Instead, he sent the Guide, the Messenger, so that He could explain and interpret the Book and revealed its words of wisdom. The Messenger Himself is the pioneer of new education system and founder of the movement to establish the system of God in human society and state. This is the same system that already established in whole universe in non-human area (where there is no freedom of choice). The Messenger’s role is to bring the human society on the same highway on which everything of universe is unintentionally moving and that is straight and destined path.

Allah has taught their Messengers the Book with wisdom and criterion to differentiate between the right and the wrong.

وَ اِذْ اٰتَيْنَا مُوْسَى الْكِتٰبَ وَ الْفُرْقَانَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُوْنَ

“And remember We gave Moses the Scripture and the Criterion (between right and wrong):  There was a chance for you to be guided aright.”  Surah Al-Baqarah (2: 53)

اِنَّاۤ اَرْسَلْنٰكَ بِالْحَقِّ بَشِيْرًا وَّ نَذِيْرًاۙ

“Surely We have sent you with the truth as a bearer of good news and as a warner.”  Surah Al-Baqarah (2: 119)


رَبَّنَا وَ ابْعَثْ فِيْهِمْ رَسُوْلًا مِّنْهُمْ يَتْلُوْا عَلَيْهِمْ اٰيٰتِكَ وَ يُعَلِّمُهُمُ الْكِتٰبَ وَ الْحِكْمَةَ وَ يُزَكِّيْهِمْ١ؕ اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ الْعَزِيْزُ الْحَكِيْمُؒ

"Our Lord! send amongst them a Messenger of their own, who shall rehearse Thy Signs to them and instruct them in scripture and wisdom, and sanctify them: For Thou art the Exalted in Might, the Wise." Surah Al-Baqarah (2: 129)

كَمَاۤ اَرْسَلْنَا فِيْكُمْ رَسُوْلًا مِّنْكُمْ يَتْلُوْا عَلَيْكُمْ اٰيٰتِنَا وَ يُزَكِّيْكُمْ وَ يُعَلِّمُكُمُ الْكِتٰبَ وَ الْحِكْمَةَ وَ يُعَلِّمُكُمْ مَّا لَمْ تَكُوْنُوْا تَعْلَمُوْنَؕ ۱فَاذْكُرُوْنِيْۤ۠ اَذْكُرْكُمْ وَ اشْكُرُوْا لِيْ وَ لَا تَكْفُرُوْنِ

“A similar (favour have ye already received) in that We have sent among you a Messenger of your own, rehearsing to you Our Signs, and sanctifying you, and instructing you in Scripture and Wisdom, and in new knowledge. Therefore remember Me, I will remember you, and be thankful to Me, and do not be ungrateful to Me” Surah Al-Baqarah (2: 151-152).


لَقَدْ مَنَّ اللّٰهُ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ اِذْ بَعَثَ فِيْهِمْ رَسُوْلًا مِّنْ اَنْفُسِهِمْ يَتْلُوْا عَلَيْهِمْ اٰيٰتِهٖ وَ يُزَكِّيْهِمْ وَ يُعَلِّمُهُمُ الْكِتٰبَ وَ الْحِكْمَةَ١ۚ وَ اِنْ كَانُوْا مِنْ قَبْلُ لَفِيْ ضَلٰلٍ مُّبِيْنٍ

“Allah did confer a great favour on the believers when He sent among them a messenger from among themselves, rehearsing unto them the Signs of Allah, sanctifying them, and instructing them in Scripture and Wisdom, while, before that, they had been in manifest error.” Al-'Imran (3: 164)


الٓرٰ١۫ كِتٰبٌ اَنْزَلْنٰهُ اِلَيْكَ لِتُخْرِجَ النَّاسَ مِنَ الظُّلُمٰتِ اِلَى النُّوْرِ١ۙ۬ بِاِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ اِلٰى صِرَاطِ الْعَزِيْزِ الْحَمِيْدِۙ   اللّٰهِ الَّذِيْ لَهٗ مَا فِي السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ مَا فِي الْاَرْضِ١ؕ

“Alif, Lam, Ra. [This is] a Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that you might bring mankind out of darknesses into the light by permission of their Lord - to the path of the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy”  Ibrahim (14: 1-2)

اِنَّاۤ اَرْسَلْنٰكَ شَاهِدًا وَّ مُبَشِّرًا وَّ نَذِيْرً لِّتُؤْمِنُوْا بِاللّٰهِ وَ رَسُوْلِهٖ وَ تُعَزِّرُوْهُ وَ تُوَقِّرُوْهُ١ؕ وَ تُسَبِّحُوْهُ بُكْرَةً وَّ اَصِيْلًا

“We have truly sent thee as a witness, as a bringer of Glad Tidings, and as a Warner.”  Al-Fat-h (48: 8-9)


مَاۤ اَنْزَلَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِّنَ الْكِتٰبِ وَ الْحِكْمَةِ يَعِظُكُمْ بِهٖ١ؕ وَ اتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَ اعْلَمُوْۤا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيْمٌؒ

“Do not treat Allah's Signs as a jest, but solemnly rehearse Allah's favours on you, and the fact that He sent down to you the Book and Wisdom, for your instruction. And fear Allah, and know that Allah is well acquainted with all things.”  Al-Baqara (2: 231).

فَاِنَّهٗ نَزَّلَهٗ عَلٰى قَلْبِكَ بِاِذْنِ اللّٰهِ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَ هُدًى وَّ بُشْرٰى لِلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ۠

“Say: Whoever is the enemy of Jibreel-- for surely he revealed it to your heart by Allah's command, verifying that which is before it and guidance and good news for the believers.” Al-Baqara (2:97)

Now after the advent of the last Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (s.a.w.), there is no other way for the humanity to follow him (s.aw.).

وَ اِذْ اَخَذَ اللّٰهُ مِيْثَاقَ النَّبِيّٖنَ لَمَاۤ اٰتَيْتُكُمْ مِّنْ كِتٰبٍ وَّ حِكْمَةٍ ثُمَّ جَآءَكُمْ رَسُوْلٌ مُّصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَكُمْ لَتُؤْمِنُنَّ بِهٖ وَ لَتَنْصُرُنَّهٗ١ؕ

“Behold! Allah took the covenant of the prophets, saying: "I give you a Book and Wisdom; then comes to you a messenger, confirming what is with you; do ye believe in him and render him help." Allah said: "Do ye agree, and take this my Covenant as binding on you?" They said: "We agree." He said: "Then bear witness, and I am with you among the witnesses."  Al-i'Imran (3: 81)

لِكُلِّ اَجَلٍ كِتَابٌ  يَمْحُوا اللّٰهُ مَا يَشَآءُ وَ يُثْبِتُ١ۖۚ وَ عِنْدَهٗۤ اُمُّ الْكِتٰبِ

Every age has its own (revealed) Book. Allah effaces whatever He wills and retains whatever He wills. With Him is the Mother of the Book. Ar-Ra'd (13: 38-399)

Now there is only one option to unite the humanity and stop infighting, quarrel, and that is that the people of the world accept the system, concept and content of education provided by the Teacher, the most knowledgeable

كَانَ النَّاسُ اُمَّةً وَّاحِدَةً١۫ فَبَعَثَ اللّٰهُ النَّبِيّٖنَ مُبَشِّرِيْنَ وَ مُنْذِرِيْنَ١۪ وَ اَنْزَلَ مَعَهُمُ الْكِتٰبَ بِالْحَقِّ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ فِيْمَا اخْتَلَفُوْا فِيْهِ١ؕ وَ مَا اخْتَلَفَ فِيْهِ اِلَّا الَّذِيْنَ اُوْتُوْهُ مِنْۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُمُ الْبَيِّنٰتُ بَغْيًۢا بَيْنَهُمْ١ۚ فَهَدَى اللّٰهُ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لِمَا اخْتَلَفُوْا فِيْهِ مِنَ الْحَقِّ بِاِذْنِهٖ١ؕ وَ اللّٰهُ يَهْدِيْ مَنْ يَّشَآءُ اِلٰى صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيْمٍ

“Mankind was one single nation, and Allah sent Messengers with glad tidings and warnings; and with them He sent the Book in truth, to judge between people in matters wherein they differed; but the People of the Book, after the clear Signs came to them, did not differ among themselves, except through selfish contumacy. Allah by His Grace Guided the believers to the Truth, concerning that wherein they differed. For Allah guided whom He will to a path that is straight.” Al-Baqara (2: 213)

فَبِمَا نَقۡضِهِمۡ مِّيۡثَاقَهُمۡ لَعَنّٰهُمۡ وَجَعَلۡنَا قُلُوۡبَهُمۡ قٰسِيَةً‌ ۚ يُحَرِّفُوۡنَ الۡـكَلِمَ عَنۡ مَّوَاضِعِهٖ‌ۙ وَنَسُوۡا حَظًّا مِّمَّا ذُكِّرُوۡا بِهٖۚ وَلَا تَزَالُ تَطَّلِعُ عَلٰى خَآٮِٕنَةٍ مِّنۡهُمۡ اِلَّا قَلِيۡلًا مِّنۡهُمۡ‌

“But because of their breach of their covenant, We cursed them, and made their hearts grow hard; they change the words from their (right) places and forget a good part of the message that was sent them, nor wilt thou cease to find them- barring a few - ever bent on (new) deceits.”  Al-Maida (5: 13)

وَ اَرْسَلْنٰكَ لِلنَّاسِ رَسُوْلًا١ؕ وَ كَفٰى بِاللّٰهِ شَهِيْدًا مَنْ يُّطِعِ الرَّسُوْلَ فَقَدْ اَطَاعَ اللّٰهَ١ۚ وَ مَنْ تَوَلّٰى فَمَاۤ اَرْسَلْنٰكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَفِيْظًاؕ

“We have sent you to mankind (O Muhammad!) as a Messenger, and Allah is sufficient as a witness. He who obeys the Messenger thereby obeys Allah; as for he who turns away, We have not sent you as a keeper over them.” An-Nisaa (4:79-80)

The Education system and curriculum of Quranic model must inculcate the teacher of all teachers (Al-Muallim), the interpreter of Al-Quran (Muhammad, s.a.w.), the life and words of the Messenger; Hadith and Seerah.

The Knowledge of Language and Communication

The language in which Al-Quran, the last Message, book of guidance, the latest edition of the divine book has been revealed and interpreted must be mandatory in our education curriculum.

اِنَّاۤ اَنْزَلْنٰهُ قُرْءٰنًا عَرَبِيًّا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُوْنَ

“We have revealed it as a Recitation in Arabic that you may fully understand”. Yusuf (12: 2)

وَ كَذٰلِكَ اَنْزَلْنٰهُ حُكْمًا عَرَبِيًّا

“And it is with the same directive that We revealed to you this Arabic Writ.” Ar-Ra'd (13: 37)

قُرْاٰنًا عَرَبِيًّا غَيْرَ ذِيْ عِوَجٍ

“It is an Arabic Qur'an free of all crookedness.”  Az-Zumar (39: 28)

كِتٰبٌ فُصِّلَتْ اٰيٰتُهٗ قُرْاٰنًا عَرَبِيًّا لِّقَوْمٍ يَّعْلَمُوْنَۙ

“A Book whose verses have been well-expounded; an Arabic Qur'an for those who have knowledge.”  Ha-Mim (41: 3)

حٰمٓۚۛوَ الْكِتٰبِ الْمُبِيْنِۙۛاِنَّا جَعَلْنٰهُ قُرْءٰنًا عَرَبِيًّا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُوْنَۚ وَ اِنَّهٗ فِيْۤ اُمِّ الْكِتٰبِ لَدَيْنَا لَعَلِيٌّ حَكِيْمٌؕ

“Ha'. Mim. By the Clear Book; verily We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you may understand. Indeed it is transcribed in the Original Book with Us;sublime and full of wisdom. “ Az-Zukhruf (43: 1-4)

As the guide of truth, the Messenger of Allah addressed Arabs in Arabic language; therefore as the representative of the Messenger of Allah, we have to learn the local, native languages wherever we are living and be fluent and get expertise in the field of language and art of communication.

وَ مَاۤ اَرْسَلْنَا مِنْ رَّسُوْلٍ اِلَّا بِلِسَانِ قَوْمِهٖ لِيُبَيِّنَ لَهُمْ

“Never have We sent a Messenger but he has addressed his people in their language that he may fully expound his Message to them.”  Ibrahim (14: 4)

وَ كَذٰلِكَ اَوْحَيْنَاۤ اِلَيْكَ قُرْاٰنًا عَرَبِيًّا لِّتُنْذِرَ اُمَّ الْقُرٰى وَ مَنْ حَوْلَهَا

“And thus did We reveal this Arabic Qur'an to you that you may warn the people of the Mother of Cities (to wit, Makkah) and those who dwell around it........... “Ash-Shura (42: 7)

فَاِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنٰهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُوْنَ

“ (O Prophet), we have made this Book easy in your tongue so that they may take heed.”  Ad-Dukhan (44: 58)

The expertise in native/nation’s languages and communication should be an integral part of our curriculum.


قَالَ رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِيْ صَدْرِيْۙ وَ يَسِّرْ لِيْۤ اَمْرِيْۙ  وَ احْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِّنْ لِّسَانِيْۙ  يَفْقَهُوْا قَوْلِيْ۪

Moses said: "Lord! Open my breast for me;and ease my task for me, and loosen the knot from my tongue so that they may understand my speech. Ta-ha (20; 25-28)

A nation without good speakers will be called a dumb nation.

 

The Knowledge of Science

In Quranic education system after the revealed and prophetic knowledge, the knowledge of Universe and its Elements, science gets a fundamental position.  After creating the first person Adam, Allah has taught Adam the names of all elements.

وَ عَلَّمَ اٰدَمَ الْاَسْمَآءَ كُلَّهَا ثُمَّ عَرَضَهُمْ عَلَى الْمَلٰٓىِٕكَةِ١ۙ فَقَالَ اَنْۢبِـُٔوْنِيْ۠ بِاَسْمَآءِ هٰۤؤُلَآءِ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صٰدِقِيْنَ  قَالُوْا سُبْحٰنَكَ لَا عِلْمَ لَنَاۤ اِلَّا مَا عَلَّمْتَنَا١ؕ اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ الْعَلِيْمُ الْحَكِيْمُ  قَالَ يٰۤاٰدَمُ اَنْۢبِئْهُمْ بِاَسْمَآىِٕهِمْ١ۚ فَلَمَّاۤ اَنْۢبَاَهُمْ بِاَسْمَآىِٕهِمْ١ۙ قَالَ اَلَمْ اَقُلْ لَّكُمْ اِنِّيْۤ اَعْلَمُ غَيْبَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ١ۙ وَ اَعْلَمُ مَا تُبْدُوْنَ وَ مَا كُنْتُمْ تَكْتُمُوْنَ

“Then Allah taught Adam the names of all things and presented them to the angels and said: “If you are right [that the appointment of a vicegerent will cause mischief] then tell Me the names of these things.”  They said. “Glory to You! We have no knowledge except what You taught us. You, only You, are All-Knowing, All-Wise. Then Allah said to Adam: “Tell them the names of these things.”And when he had told them the names of all things, Allah said: “Did I not say to you that I know everything about the heavens and the earth which are beyond your range of knowledge, and I know all that you disclose and also all that you hide?”  Al-Baqara (2: 31-33)

Unfortunately, today’s science is under the hand of secular humanists. They are rebellious against God and tried their best to erase Allah from the transcripts of the universe. However, several Muslim scientists, including Haroon Yahya, produced amazing science literature that make a student feel closer to God. The true knowledge of science is the recognition of the Artist and the Creator of the universe and human beings that fills the heart with gratitude and thankfulness. Allah has revealed two kinds of Books (Scriptures) that spread over two types of pages; one is written with black ink brought by the Messengers of God. The other kind of Book is spread on the pages of universe; we know it as a science. The pages inside the hard cover of sky and earth are uncounted; days and months, stars and galaxies, sun and moon, rain and snow, mountain and desert, men and women, birds and animals. By reading and reviewing the pictures and lines of the Book of universe, a person of intellect can recognize easily his/her God. The first scientist who draws the attention of this book was Abraham (a.s.), the son of Aazar. He refused to accept the diminishing stars, setting sun and descending moon as a god. He announced:

لا احب الافلین

“I do not love the things that go down.” Al-An'am (6: 76)


وَ كَذٰلِكَ نُرِيْۤ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ مَلَكُوْتَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ وَ لِيَكُوْنَ مِنَ الْمُوْقِنِيْنَ

“And thus We showed Abraham the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, so that he might become one of those who have sure faith.”  Al-An'am (6: 75)

The thinker of the cave Hira (Muhammad, s.a.w) declared the same thing.

اِنَّ فِيْ خَلْقِ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ وَ اخْتِلَافِ الَّيْلِ وَ النَّهَارِ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّاُولِي الْاَلْبَابِۚۙ الَّذِيْنَ يَذْكُرُوْنَ اللّٰهَ قِيٰمًا وَّ قُعُوْدًا وَّ عَلٰى جُنُوْبِهِمْ وَ يَتَفَكَّرُوْنَ فِيْ خَلْقِ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الْاَرْضۚ

“Surely in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of night and day, there are signs for men of intellect.” Al-i'Imran (3: 190-191)

We should develop the science curriculum based on following Ayahs and experience and discovery by the mankind by using intellect provided by God Almighty, the All-knowing;


وَ هُوَ الَّذِيْ مَدَّ الْاَرْضَ وَ جَعَلَ فِيْهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَ اَنْهٰرًا١ؕ وَ مِنْ كُلِّ الثَّمَرٰتِ جَعَلَ فِيْهَا زَوْجَيْنِ اثْنَيْنِ يُغْشِي الَّيْلَ النَّهَارَ١ؕ اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَّتَفَكَّرُوْنَ۠

“He it is Who has stretched out the earth and has placed in it firm mountains and has caused the rivers to flow. He has made every fruit in pairs, two and two, and He it is Who causes the night to cover the day.8 Surely there are signs in these for those who reflect.”  Ar-Ra'd (13:3)

وَ فِي الْاَرْضِ قِطَعٌ مُّتَجٰوِرٰتٌ وَّ جَنّٰتٌ مِّنْ اَعْنَابٍ وَّ زَرْعٌ وَّ نَخِيْلٌ صِنْوَانٌ وَّ غَيْرُ صِنْوَانٍ يُّسْقٰى بِمَآءٍ وَّاحِدٍ١۫ وَ نُفَضِّلُ بَعْضَهَا عَلٰى بَعْضٍ فِي الْاُكُلِ١ؕ اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَّعْقِلُوْنَ

“And on the earth there are many tracts of land neighbouring each other. There are on it vineyards, and sown fields, and date palms: some growing in clusters from one root, some standing alone. They are irrigated by the same water, and yet We make some excel others in taste. Surely there are signs in these for a people who use their reason.” Ar-Ra'd (13: 4)

اَللّٰهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَحْمِلُ كُلُّ اُنْثٰى وَ مَا تَغِيْضُ الْاَرْحَامُ وَ مَا تَزْدَادُ١ؕ وَ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ عِنْدَهٗ بِمِقْدَارٍ

“Allah knows what every female bears, and what the wombs fall short of (in gestation), and what they may add. With Him everything is in a fixed measure.” Ar-Ra'd (13: 8)

سُبْحٰنَ الَّذِيْ خَلَقَ الْاَزْوَاجَ كُلَّهَا مِمَّا تُنْۢبِتُ الْاَرْضُ وَ مِنْ اَنْفُسِهِمْ وَ مِمَّا لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ

“Holy is HeWho created all things in pairs, whether it be of what the earth produces, and of themselves, and of what they do not know.”  Ya-Sin (36: 366)

اَنْزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَسَالَتْ اَوْدِيَةٌۢ بِقَدَرِهَا فَاحْتَمَلَ السَّيْلُ زَبَدًا رَّابِيًا١ؕ وَ مِمَّا يُوْقِدُوْنَ عَلَيْهِ فِي النَّارِ ابْتِغَآءَ حِلْيَةٍ اَوْ مَتَاعٍ زَبَدٌ مِّثْلُهٗ١ؕ كَذٰلِكَ يَضْرِبُ اللّٰهُ الْحَقَّ وَ الْبَاطِلَ١ؕ۬ فَاَمَّا الزَّبَدُ فَيَذْهَبُ جُفَآءً١ۚ وَ اَمَّا مَا يَنْفَعُ النَّاسَ فَيَمْكُثُ فِي الْاَرْضِ١ؕ كَذٰلِكَ يَضْرِبُ اللّٰهُ الْاَمْثَالَؕ

“Allah sends down water from the heavens and the riverbeds flow, each according to its measure, and the torrent carries along a swelling scum. In like manner, from that metal which they smelt in the fire to make ornaments and utensils, there arises scum like it. Thus does Allah depict truth and falsehood. As for the scum, it passes away as dross; but that which benefits mankind abides on the earth. Thus does Allah explain (the truth) through examples.” Ar-Ra'd (13: 17)

هُوَ الَّذِيْۤ اَنْزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءً لَّكُمْ مِّنْهُ شَرَابٌ وَّ مِنْهُ شَجَرٌ فِيْهِ تُسِيْمُوْنَ  يُنْۢبِتُ لَكُمْ بِهِ الزَّرْعَ وَ الزَّيْتُوْنَ وَ النَّخِيْلَ وَ الْاَعْنَابَ وَ مِنْ كُلِّ الثَّمَرٰتِ١ؕ اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَّتَفَكَّرُوْنَ۠ وَ سَخَّرَ لَكُمُ الَّيْلَ وَ النَّهَارَ١ۙ وَ الشَّمْسَ وَ الْقَمَرَ١ؕ وَ النُّجُوْمُ مُسَخَّرٰتٌۢ بِاَمْرِهٖ١ؕ اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَّعْقِلُوْنَۙ وَ مَا ذَرَاَ لَكُمْ فِي الْاَرْضِ مُخْتَلِفًا اَلْوَانُهٗ١ؕ اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَّذَّكَّرُوْنَ  وَ هُوَ الَّذِيْ سَخَّرَ الْبَحْرَ لِتَاْكُلُوْا مِنْهُ لَحْمًا طَرِيًّا وَّ تَسْتَخْرِجُوْا مِنْهُ حِلْيَةً تَلْبَسُوْنَهَا١ۚ وَ تَرَى الْفُلْكَ مَوَاخِرَ فِيْهِ وَ لِتَبْتَغُوْا مِنْ فَضْلِهٖ وَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُوْنَ

“He it is Who sends down water for you from the sky out of which you drink and out of which grow the plants on which you pasture your cattle, and by virtue of which He causes crops and olives and date-palms and grapes and all kinds of fruit to grow for you. Surely in this there is a great Sign for those who reflect. He has subjected for you the night and the day and the sun and the moon and the stars have also been made subservient by His command. Surely there are Signs in this for those who use their reason. And there are also Signs for those who take heed in the numerous things of various colours that He has created for you on earth. And He it is Who has subjected the sea that you may eat fresh fish from it and bring forth ornaments from it that you can wear. And you see ships ploughing their course through it so that you may go forth seeking His Bounty and be grateful to Him.” An-Nahl (16: 10-14)

وَ اللّٰهُ اَنْزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَاَحْيَا بِهِ الْاَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا١ؕ اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَّسْمَعُوْنَؒ  وَ اِنَّ لَكُمْ فِي الْاَنْعَامِ لَعِبْرَةً١ؕ نُسْقِيْكُمْ مِّمَّا فِيْ بُطُوْنِهٖ مِنْۢ بَيْنِ فَرْثٍ وَّ دَمٍ لَّبَنًا خَالِصًا سَآىِٕغًا لِّلشّٰرِبِيْنَ وَ مِنْ ثَمَرٰتِ النَّخِيْلِ وَ الْاَعْنَابِ تَتَّخِذُوْنَ مِنْهُ سَكَرًا وَّ رِزْقًا حَسَنًا١ؕ اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَّعْقِلُوْنَ وَ اَوْحٰى رَبُّكَ اِلَى النَّحْلِ اَنِ اتَّخِذِيْ مِنَ الْجِبَالِ بُيُوْتًا وَّ مِنَ الشَّجَرِ وَ مِمَّا يَعْرِشُوْنَۙ ثُمَّ كُلِيْ مِنْ كُلِّ الثَّمَرٰتِ فَاسْلُكِيْ سُبُلَ رَبِّكِ ذُلُلًا١ؕ يَخْرُجُ مِنْۢ بُطُوْنِهَا شَرَابٌ مُّخْتَلِفٌ اَلْوَانُهٗ فِيْهِ شِفَآءٌ لِّلنَّاسِ١ؕ اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَّتَفَكَّرُوْنَ۠

“Allah sends down water from the heaven, and thereby He instantly revives the earth after it lay dead. Verily there is a sign in it for those who have ears. Surely there is a lesson for you in the cattle: We provide you to drink out of that which is in their bellies between the faeces and the blood - pure milk - which is a palatable drink for those who take it. And out of the fruits of date palms and grapes you derive intoxicants as well as wholesome sustenance. Surely there is a sign for those who use reason. Your Lord inspired the bee, saying: "Set up hives in the mountains and in the trees and in the trellises that people put up, then suck the juice of every kind of fruit and keep treading the ways of your Lord which have been made easy." There comes forth from their bellies a drink varied in colours, wherein there is healing for men. Verily there is a sign in this for those who reflect.” An-Nahl (16: 65-69)

وَ اللّٰهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمْ مِّنْ اَنْفُسِكُمْ اَزْوَاجًا وَّ جَعَلَ لَكُمْ مِّنْ اَزْوَاجِكُمْ بَنِيْنَ وَ حَفَدَةً وَّ رَزَقَكُمْ مِّنَ الطَّيِّبٰتِ١ؕ اَفَبِالْبَاطِلِ۠ يُؤْمِنُوْنَ وَ بِنِعْمَتِ اللّٰهِ هُمْ يَكْفُرُوْنَۙ

“And Allah has given you spouses from your kind, and has granted you through your spouses, sons and grandsons, and has provided you wholesome things as sustenance. (After knowing all this), do they still believe in falsehoodand deny Allah's bounty.”  An-Nahl (16: 72)

وَ اللّٰهُ اَخْرَجَكُمْ مِّنْۢ بُطُوْنِ اُمَّهٰتِكُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُوْنَ شَيْـًٔا١ۙ وَّ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ السَّمْعَ وَ الْاَبْصَارَ وَ الْاَفْـِٕدَةَ١ۙ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُوْنَ

“Allah has brought you forth from your mothers' wombs when you knew nothing, and then gave you hearing, and sight and thinking hearts so that you may give thanks.” An-Nahl (16: 78)

لَمْ يَرَوْا اِلَى الطَّيْرِ مُسَخَّرٰتٍ فِيْ جَوِّ السَّمَآءِ١ؕ مَا يُمْسِكُهُنَّ اِلَّا اللّٰهُ١ؕ اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُّؤْمِنُوْنَ  وَ اللّٰهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمْ مِّنْۢ بُيُوْتِكُمْ سَكَنًا وَّ جَعَلَ لَكُمْ مِّنْ جُلُوْدِ الْاَنْعَامِ بُيُوْتًا تَسْتَخِفُّوْنَهَا يَوْمَ ظَعْنِكُمْ وَ يَوْمَ اِقَامَتِكُمْ١ۙ وَ مِنْ اَصْوَافِهَا وَ اَوْبَارِهَا وَ اَشْعَارِهَاۤ اَثَاثًا وَّ مَتَاعًا اِلٰى حِيْن وَ اللّٰهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمْ مِّمَّا خَلَقَ ظِلٰلًا وَّ جَعَلَ لَكُمْ مِّنَ الْجِبَالِ اَكْنَانًا وَّ جَعَلَ لَكُمْ سَرَابِيْلَ تَقِيْكُمُ الْحَرَّ وَ سَرَابِيْلَ تَقِيْكُمْ بَاْسَكُمْ١ؕ

“Have they never noticed the birds how they are held under control in the middle of the sky, where none holds them (from falling) except Allah? Surely there are signs in this for those who believe. Allah has made your houses a repose, and has provided you with the skins of the cattle for your habitation which are light to handle both when you travel and when you camp; and out of their wool and their fur and their hair He has given you furnishings and goods for use over a period of time. And Allah has provided shade for you out of some of the things He has created; and He has provided you with shelters in the mountains, and has given you coats that protect you from heat as well as coats that protect you in battle.” An-Nahl (16: 79-82)

وَ جَعَلْنَا الَّيْلَ وَ النَّهَارَ اٰيَتَيْنِ فَمَحَوْنَاۤ اٰيَةَ الَّيْلِ وَ جَعَلْنَاۤ اٰيَةَ النَّهَارِ مُبْصِرَةً لِّتَبْتَغُوْا فَضْلًا مِّنْ رَّبِّكُمْ وَ لِتَعْلَمُوْا عَدَدَ السِّنِيْنَ وَ الْحِسَابَ١ؕ وَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ فَصَّلْنٰهُ تَفْصِيْلًا

“We have made night and day as two signs. We made the sign of the night devoid of light, and made the sign of the day radiant that you may seek the bounty of your Lord and know the computation of years and numbers. Thus We have expounded everything in detail to keep everything distinct from the other.”  Al-Israa (17: 12)

وَ لَا تَقْفُ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهٖ عِلْمٌ١ؕ اِنَّ السَّمْعَ وَ الْبَصَرَ وَ الْفُؤَادَ كُلُّ اُولٰٓىِٕكَ كَانَ عَنْهُ مَسْـُٔوْلًا

“Do not follow that of which you have no knowledge. Surely the hearing, the sight, the heart - each of these shall be called to account.” Al-Israa (17: 36)

هَلْ اَتٰى عَلَى الْاِنْسَانِ حِيْنٌ مِّنَ الدَّهْرِ لَمْ يَكُنْ شَيْـًٔا مَّذْكُوْرًا

“Was there a period of time when man was not even worthy of a mention?”   Ad-Dahr  (76: 1)

رَبُّكُمُ الَّذِيْ يُزْجِيْ لَكُمُ الْفُلْكَ فِي الْبَحْرِ لِتَبْتَغُوْا مِنْ فَضْلِه

“Your Lord is He Who steers your vessels across the seas that you may seek of His Bounty.”  Al-Israa  (17: 66)

وَ لَقَدْ كَرَّمْنَا بَنِيْۤ اٰدَمَ وَ حَمَلْنٰهُمْ فِي الْبَرِّ وَ الْبَحْرِ وَ رَزَقْنٰهُمْ مِّنَ الطَّيِّبٰتِ وَ فَضَّلْنٰهُمْ عَلٰى كَثِيْرٍ مِّمَّنْ خَلَقْنَا تَفْضِيْلًاؒ

“Indeed, We honoured the progeny of Adam, and bore them across land and sea and provided them with good things for their sustenance, and exalted them above many of Our creatures.”  Al-Israa (17: 70)

يٰۤاَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ فِيْ رَيْبٍ مِّنَ الْبَعْثِ فَاِنَّا خَلَقْنٰكُمْ مِّنْ تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ مِنْ نُّطْفَةٍ ثُمَّ مِنْ عَلَقَةٍ ثُمَّ مِنْ مُّضْغَةٍ مُّخَلَّقَةٍ وَّ غَيْرِ مُخَلَّقَةٍ لِّنُبَيِّنَ لَكُمْ١ؕ وَ نُقِرُّ فِي الْاَرْحَامِ مَا نَشَآءُ اِلٰۤى اَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ثُمَّ نُخْرِجُكُمْ طِفْلًا ثُمَّ لِتَبْلُغُوْۤا اَشُدَّكُمْ١ۚ وَ مِنْكُمْ مَّنْ يُّتَوَفّٰى وَ مِنْكُمْ مَّنْ يُّرَدُّ اِلٰۤى اَرْذَلِ الْعُمُرِ لِكَيْلَا يَعْلَمَ مِنْۢ بَعْدِ عِلْمٍ شَيْـًٔا١ؕ وَ تَرَى الْاَرْضَ هَامِدَةً فَاِذَاۤ اَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْهَا الْمَآءَ اهْتَزَّتْ وَ رَبَتْ وَ اَنْۢبَتَتْ مِنْ كُلِّ زَوْجٍۭ بَهِيْجٍ ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّ اللّٰهَ هُوَ الْحَقُّ وَ اَنَّهٗ يُحْيِ الْمَوْتٰى وَ اَنَّهٗ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌۙ   وَّ اَنَّ السَّاعَةَ اٰتِيَةٌ لَّا رَيْبَ فِيْهَا١ۙ وَ اَنَّ اللّٰهَ يَبْعَثُ مَنْ فِي الْقُبُوْرِ

“O mankind! If you have any doubt concerning Resurrection, then know that it is surely We Who created you from dust, then from a drop of sperm, then from a clot of blood, then from a little lump of flesh, some of it shapely and other shapeless. (We are rehearsing this) that We may make the reality clear to you. We cause (the drop of sperm) that We please to remain in the wombs till an appointed time. We bring you forth as infants (and nurture you) that you may come of age. Among you is he that dies (at a young age) and he who is kept back to the most abject age so that after once having known, he reaches a stage when he knows nothing.” Al-Hajj (22: 5-7)

اِقْرَاْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِيْ خَلَقَۚ  خَلَقَ الْاِنْسَانَ مِنْ عَلَقٍۚ اِقْرَاْ وَ رَبُّكَ الْاَكْرَمُۙ الَّذِيْ عَلَّمَ بِالْقَلَمِۙ عَلَّمَ الْاِنْسَانَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْؕ

“Recite in the name of your LordWho created, Recite: and your Lord is Most Generous, Who taught by the pen,taught man what he did not know.” Al-Alaq  (96: 1)

 وَالتِّيْنِ وَ الزَّيْتُوْنِۙ وَ طُوْرِ سِيْنِيْنَۙ وَ هٰذَا الْبَلَدِ الْاَمِيْنِۙ لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْاِنْسَانَ فِيْۤ اَحْسَنِ تَقْوِيْمٍ

“By the fig and the olive;and by the Mount Sinai, and by this city (of Makkah), a haven of peace: surely We created man in the best mould.” At-Tin  (95: 1-4)

كَذٰلِكَ سَخَّرْنٰهَا لَكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُوْنَ

We subjected these animals that you may give thanks. Al-Hajj (22: 34)

هُوَ الَّذِيْ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْاَرْضَ ذَلُوْلًا فَامْشُوْا فِيْ مَنَاكِبِهَا وَ كُلُوْا مِنْ رِّزْقِهٖ١ؕ وَ اِلَيْهِ النُّشُوْرُ

“ He it is Who made the earth subservient to you. So traverse in its tracks and partake of the sustenance He has provided. To Him will you be resurrected.” Al-Mulk  (67: 15)


وَ اللّٰهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْاَرْضَ بِسَاطًاۙ لِّتَسْلُكُوْا مِنْهَا سُبُلًا فِجَاجًاؒ

“Allah has made the earth a wide expanse for you so that you may tread its spacious paths.” Nuh (71: 19-20)


اَلَمْ تَرَ اَنَّ اللّٰهَ سَخَّرَ لَكُمْ مَّا فِي الْاَرْضِ وَ الْفُلْكَ تَجْرِيْ فِي الْبَحْرِ بِاَمْرِهٖ١ؕ وَ يُمْسِكُ السَّمَآءَ اَنْ تَقَعَ عَلَى الْاَرْضِ اِلَّا بِاِذْنِهٖ١ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ بِالنَّاسِ لَرَءُوْفٌ رَّحِيْمٌ

“Have you not seen how Allah has subjected to you all that is in the earth, and the vessels that sail in the sea by His command, and it is He Who holds back the sky that it may not fall on earth except by His leave? Surely Allah is Most Gentle, Ever Compassionate to people. Al-Hajj (22: 65)

وَ لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْاِنْسَانَ مِنْ سُلٰلَةٍ مِّنْ طِيْنٍۚ  ثُمَّ جَعَلْنٰهُ نُطْفَةً فِيْ قَرَارٍ مَّكِيْنٍ۪ ثُمَّ خَلَقْنَا النُّطْفَةَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقْنَا الْعَلَقَةَ مُضْغَةً فَخَلَقْنَا الْمُضْغَةَ عِظٰمًا فَكَسَوْنَا الْعِظٰمَ لَحْمًا١ۗ ثُمَّ اَنْشَاْنٰهُ خَلْقًا اٰخَرَ١ؕ فَتَبٰرَكَ اللّٰهُ اَحْسَنُ الْخٰلِقِيْنَؕ ثُمَّ اِنَّكُمْ بَعْدَ ذٰلِكَ لَمَيِّتُوْنَؕ ثُمَّ اِنَّكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ تُبْعَثُوْنَ  وَ لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعَ طَرَآىِٕقَ١ۖۗ وَ مَا كُنَّا عَنِ الْخَلْقِ غٰفِلِيْنَ  وَ اَنْزَلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءًۢ بِقَدَرٍ فَاَسْكَنّٰهُ فِي الْاَرْضِ١ۖۗ وَ اِنَّا عَلٰى ذَهَابٍۭ بِهٖ لَقٰدِرُوْنَۚ فَاَنْشَاْنَا لَكُمْ بِهٖ جَنّٰتٍ مِّنْ نَّخِيْلٍ وَّ اَعْنَابٍ١ۘ لَكُمْ فِيْهَا فَوَاكِهُ كَثِيْرَةٌ وَّ مِنْهَا تَاْكُلُوْنَۙ  وَ شَجَرَةً تَخْرُجُ مِنْ طُوْرِ سَيْنَآءَ تَنْۢبُتُ بِالدُّهْنِ وَ صِبْغٍ لِّلْاٰكِلِيْنَ   وَ اِنَّ لَكُمْ فِي الْاَنْعَامِ لَعِبْرَةً١ؕ نُسْقِيْكُمْ مِّمَّا فِيْ بُطُوْنِهَا وَ لَكُمْ فِيْهَا مَنَافِعُ كَثِيْرَةٌ وَّ مِنْهَا تَاْكُلُوْنَۙ وَ عَلَيْهَا وَ عَلَى الْفُلْكِ تُحْمَلُوْنَؒ

“We created man out of the extract of clay, then We made him into a drop of life-germ, then We placed it in a safe depository, then We made this drop into a clot, then We made the clot into a lump, then We made the lump into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We caused it to grow into another creation. Thus Most Blessed is Allah, the Best of all those that create. Thereafter you are destined to die, and then on the Day of Resurrection you shall certainly be raised up. We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation.16 We sent down water from the sky in right measure, and caused it to stay in the earth,17 and We have the power to cause it to vanish(in the manner We please). Then through water We caused gardens of date-palms and vines to grow for you wherein you have an abundance of delicious fruitsand from them you derive your livelihood.And We also produced the tree which springs forth from Mount Sinai, containing oil and sauce for those that eat. And indeed there is also a lesson for you in cattle. We provide you with drink out of what they have in their bellies; and you have many other benefits in them: you eat of them, and are carried on them and also on ships.”  Al-Muminun (23: 12-22)

وَ اللّٰهُ خَلَقَ كُلَّ دَآبَّةٍ مِّنْ مَّآءٍ١ۚ فَمِنْهُمْ مَّنْ يَّمْشِيْ عَلٰى بَطْنِهٖ١ۚ وَ مِنْهُمْ مَّنْ يَّمْشِيْ عَلٰى رِجْلَيْنِ١ۚ وَ مِنْهُمْ مَّنْ يَّمْشِيْ عَلٰۤى اَرْبَعٍ١ؕ يَخْلُقُ اللّٰهُ مَا يَشَآءُ١ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ

“And Allah has created every animal from water. Of them some move on their bellies, some move on two legs and some on four. Allah creates whatever He wills. Surely Allah has power over everything.” An-Nur (24: 45)


وَ هُوَ الَّذِيْ مَرَجَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ هٰذَا عَذْبٌ فُرَاتٌ وَّ هٰذَا مِلْحٌ اُجَاجٌ١ۚ وَ جَعَلَ بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخًا وَّ حِجْرًا مَّحْجُوْرًا

“And He it is Who has joined the two seas: one sweet and palatable and the other salty and bitter; and He has set a barrier and an insurmountable obstruction between the two that keeps them apart.”  Al-Furqan (25: 53)


وَ مِنْ اٰيٰتِهٖ خَلْقُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ وَ اخْتِلَافُ اَلْسِنَتِكُمْ وَ اَلْوَانِكُمْ١ؕ اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّلْعٰلِمِيْنَ وَ مِنْ اٰيٰتِهٖ مَنَامُكُمْ بِالَّيْلِ وَ النَّهَارِ وَ ابْتِغَآؤُكُمْ مِّنْ فَضْلِهٖ١ؕ اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَّسْمَعُوْنَ

“And of His Signs are the creation of the heavens and the earthand the diversity of your tongues and colours. Indeed there are Signs in this for the wise.” Ar-Rum (30: 22-23)

اَلَمْ تَرَوْا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ سَخَّرَ لَكُمْ مَّا فِي السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ مَا فِي الْاَرْضِ وَ اَسْبَغَ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعَمَهٗ ظَاهِرَةً وَّ بَاطِنَةًؕ

“Have you not seen that Allah has subjected to your service all that is in the heavens and on the earth and has abundantly bestowed upon you all His bounties, both visible and invisible?” Luqman (31: 20)

اَلَمْ تَرَ اَنَّ اللّٰهَ اَنْزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءً١ۚ فَاَخْرَجْنَا بِهٖ ثَمَرٰتٍ مُّخْتَلِفًا اَلْوَانُهَا١ؕ وَ مِنَ الْجِبَالِ جُدَدٌۢ بِيْضٌ وَّ حُمْرٌ مُّخْتَلِفٌ اَلْوَانُهَا وَ غَرَابِيْبُ سُوْدٌ وَ مِنَ النَّاسِ وَ الدَّوَآبِّ وَ الْاَنْعَامِ مُخْتَلِفٌ اَلْوَانُهٗ كَذٰلِكَ١ؕ

“Do you not see that Allah sent down water from the sky with which We brought forth fruits of diverse hues? In the mountains there are white and red, of diverse hues, and pitchy black; and human beings too, and beasts, and cattle diverse are their hues.” Fatir (35: 27-28)

وَ سَخَّرَ لَكُمْ مَّا فِي السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ مَا فِي الْاَرْضِ جَمِيْعًا مِّنْهُ١ؕ اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَّتَفَكَّرُوْنَ۠

“He has subjected to you all that is in the heavens and the earth, all being from Him.Verily there are Signs in this for those who reflect.”  Al-Jathiya  (45: 13)

وَ مَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَآءَ وَ الْاَرْضَ وَ مَا بَيْنَهُمَا بَاطِلًاؕ

“We did not create this heaven and earth and all that lies between them in vain.” Sad (38: 27)

قُتِلَ الْخَرّٰصُوْنَۙ  الَّذِيْنَ هُمْ فِيْ غَمْرَةٍ سَاهُوْنَۙ

“Doomed are the conjecturerswho are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness.” Az-Zariyat (51:10-11)

The above mentioned verses of Al-Quran openly explains the pages of the universe and confirms the Unity (of God, universe and human), and the Day of Judgement. It makes easy to understand science and it confirms that science is a subject to better recognise and understand God. These facts of science spread over different departments of science:  physics, chemistry, biology, zoology, botany, geology, oceanology, astronomy, genealogy, math, etc.

 

Education of Management, Administration, Governance, Politics and other Social Sciences

Those who accepted the faith and represent the Messenger of God are the vicegerents of God on the earth. They have to administer the worldly affairs in a way that facilitates the path of heaven for the masses and in accordance with the laws of God, the real Creator and Administrator of the universe.  We must learn all required knowledge related to state and governance.

وَ قَتَلَ دَاوٗدُ جَالُوْتَ وَ اٰتٰىهُ اللّٰهُ الْمُلْكَ وَ الْحِكْمَةَ وَ عَلَّمَهٗ مِمَّا يَشَآءُ١ؕ

“And David killed Goliath, and Allah granted him dominion and wisdom, and imparted to him the knowledge of whatever He willed. Al-Baqara (2: 251)

وَ اللّٰهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيْمٌۖ   يُّؤْتِي الْحِكْمَةَ مَنْ يَّشَآءُ١ۚ وَ مَنْ يُّؤْتَ الْحِكْمَةَ فَقَدْ اُوْتِيَ خَيْرًا كَثِيْرًا١ؕ وَ مَا يَذَّكَّرُ اِلَّاۤ اُولُوا الْاَلْبَابِ

“Allah is Munificent, All-Knowing.  He grants wisdom to those whom He wills; and whoever is granted wisdom has indeed been granted much good. Yet none except people of understanding take heed. Al-Baqara (2: 268-269)

To govern a State, the most important knowledge is the understanding the depth of the matter/issues (politics).

وَ كَذٰلِكَ مَكَّنَّا لِيُوْسُفَ فِي الْاَرْضِ١ٞ وَ لِنُعَلِّمَهٗ مِنْ تَاْوِيْلِ الْاَحَادِيْثِ١ؕ وَ اللّٰهُ غَالِبٌ عَلٰۤى اَمْرِهٖ وَ لٰكِنَّ اَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ وَ لَمَّا بَلَغَ اَشُدَّهٗۤ اٰتَيْنٰهُ حُكْمًا وَّ عِلْمًا١ؕ وَ كَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِيْنَ

“The man from Egypt who bought him said to his wife: "Take good care of him, possibly he might be of benefit to us or we might adopt him as a son." Thus We found a way for Joseph to become established in that land and in order that We might teach him to comprehend the deeper meaning of things. Allah has full power to implement His design although most people do not know that. And when Joseph reached the age of maturity, We granted him judgement and knowledge.Thus do We reward those who do good.”  Yusuf (12: 21-22)

When Yusuf (Joseph) got the state power, he thanked his Lord in following words;

رَبِّ قَدْ اٰتَيْتَنِيْ مِنَ الْمُلْكِ وَ عَلَّمْتَنِيْ مِنْ تَاْوِيْلِ الْاَحَادِيْثِ١ۚ فَاطِرَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ١۫ اَنْتَ وَلِيّٖ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَ الْاٰخِرَةِ١ۚ تَوَفَّنِيْ مُسْلِمًا وَّ اَلْحِقْنِيْ بِالصّٰلِحِيْنَ

“My Lord! You have bestowed dominion upon me and have taught me to comprehend the depths of things. O Creator of heavens and earth! You are my Guardian in this world and in the Hereafter. Cause me to die in submission to You, and join me, in the end, with the righteous." Yusuf (12: 101)

وَ شَدَدْنَا مُلْكَهٗ وَ اٰتَيْنٰهُ الْحِكْمَةَ وَ فَصْلَ الْخِطَابِ

“And We strengthened his kingdom and endowed him with wisdom and decisive judgement.” Sad (38:20)

وَ لَقَدْ اٰتَيْنَا دَاوٗدَ وَ سُلَيْمٰنَ عِلْمًا١ۚ وَ قَالَا الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِيْ فَضَّلَنَا عَلٰى كَثِيْرٍ مِّنْ عِبَادِهِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ

“ (On the other hand), We granted knowledge to David and Solomon and they said: "All praise be to Allah Who has exalted us above many of His believing servants!”  An-Naml (27: 15)

وَ حُشِرَ لِسُلَيْمٰنَ جُنُوْدُهٗ مِنَ الْجِنِّ وَ الْاِنْسِ وَ الطَّيْرِ فَهُمْ يُوْزَعُوْنَ

“Hosts of jinn and humans and birds were marshalled for Solomon and were kept under full control.” An-Naml (27: 17)

يٰۤاَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اِنَّا خَلَقْنٰكُمْ مِّنْ ذَكَرٍ وَّ اُنْثٰى وَ جَعَلْنٰكُمْ شُعُوْبًا وَّ قَبَآىِٕلَ لِتَعَارَفُوْا١ؕ

“O Human beings, We created you all from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another.”  Al-Hujurat (49: 13)

The custodian of the vicegerent of the earth should have ability of making, not the ability to corrupt and destroy.

The knowledge of society (social sciences), economics, policy, planning, research, management, finance and others fall in this category.

Knowledge of Technology

The technology is another area in which a group of the community/nation must specialize.

“They said: "O Dhu al-Qarnayn, Gog and Magog are spreading corruption in this land. So shall we pay you taxes on the understanding that you will set up a barrier between us and them?" He answered: "Whatever my Lord has granted me is good enough. But help me with your labour and I will erect a rampart between you and them. Bring me ingots of iron." Then after he had filled up the space between the two mountain-sides, he said: "(Light a fire) and ply bellows." When he had made it (red like) fire, he said: "Bring me molten copper which I may pour on it."  Such was the rampart that Gog and Magog could not scale, nor could they pierce it.” Al-Kahf (18: 94-97)

 وَّ سَخَّرْنَا مَعَ دَاوٗدَ الْجِبَالَ يُسَبِّحْنَ وَ الطَّيْرَ١ؕ وَ كُنَّا فٰعِلِيْنَ  وَ عَلَّمْنٰهُ صَنْعَةَ لَبُوْسٍ لَّكُمْ لِتُحْصِنَكُمْ مِّنْۢ بَاْسِكُمْ١ۚ فَهَلْ اَنْتُمْ شٰكِرُوْنَ

“We made the mountains and the birds celebrate the praise of Allah with David. It was We Who did all this. It was We Who taught him the art of making coats of mail for your benefit so that it may protect you from each other's violence. Do you, then, give thanks?”  Al-Anbiyaa (21: 79-80)

فَسَخَّرْنَا لَهُ الرِّيْحَ تَجْرِيْ بِاَمْرِهٖ رُخَآءً حَيْثُ اَصَابَۙ وَ الشَّيٰطِيْنَ كُلَّ بَنَّآءٍ وَّ غَوَّاصٍۙ

“We subjected the wind to him, so that it blew gently at his bidding, wherever he directed it, and We also subjected the devils to him all kinds of builders and divers.” Sad (38: 36-37)


وَ لَقَدْ اٰتَيْنَا دَاوٗدَ مِنَّا فَضْلًا١ؕ يٰجِبَالُ اَوِّبِيْ مَعَهٗ وَ الطَّيْرَ١ۚ وَ اَلَنَّا لَهُ الْحَدِيْدَۙ  اَنِ اعْمَلْ سٰبِغٰتٍ وَّ قَدِّرْ فِي السَّرْدِ وَ اعْمَلُوْا صَالِحًا١ؕ اِنِّيْ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ بَصِيْرٌ  وَ لِسُلَيْمٰنَ الرِّيْحَ غُدُوُّهَا شَهْرٌ وَّ رَوَاحُهَا شَهْرٌ١ۚ وَ اَسَلْنَا لَهٗ عَيْنَ الْقِطْرِ١ؕ وَ مِنَ الْجِنِّ مَنْ يَّعْمَلُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ بِاِذْنِ رَبِّهٖ١ؕ وَ مَنْ يَّزِغْ مِنْهُمْ عَنْ اَمْرِنَا نُذِقْهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ السَّعِيْرِ  يَعْمَلُوْنَ لَهٗ مَا يَشَآءُ مِنْ مَّحَارِيْبَ وَ تَمَاثِيْلَ وَ جِفَانٍ كَالْجَوَابِ وَ قُدُوْرٍ رّٰسِيٰتٍ١ؕ اِعْمَلُوْۤا اٰلَ دَاوٗدَ شُكْرًا١ؕ وَ قَلِيْلٌ مِّنْ عِبَادِيَ الشَّكُوْرُ

“We bestowed Our favour upon David. (We commanded): “O mountains, sing Allah's praises with him”; (and so did We command) the birds. We softened the iron for him, (saying):  “Fashion coats of mail and measure their links with care and act righteously. I am watching over whatever you do. And We subdued the wind to Solomon: its morning course was a month's journey and its evening course was a month's journey. We gave him a spring flowing with molten brass, and We subdued for him jinn who, by his Lord's permission, worked before him. Such of them as swerved from Our commandment, We let them taste the chastisement of the Blazing Fire. They made for him whatever he would desire: stately buildings, images, basins like water-troughs and huge, built-in-cauldrons: “Work, O house of David, in thankfulness (to your Lord). Few of My servants are truly thankful.”  Saba (34: 10-13)

وَ اَنْزَلْنَا الْحَدِيْدَ فِيْهِ بَاْسٌ شَدِيْدٌ وَّ مَنَافِعُ لِلنَّاسِ

 And We sent down iron, wherein there is awesome power and many benefits for people. Al-Hadid  (57: 25)

Knowledge of Health and Medical Sciences

The knowledge related to health and medical sciences always got importance in Muslim history. A proverb:  “There are only two types of knowledge: the knowledge of body and knowledge of deen (religion).” These are commonly used in the people of knowledge. The health is a trust and bounty of Allah and it is mandatory on all human to protect it. However, illness and health are all in the hands of Allah; the Warner and the Healer.

وَ اَيُّوْبَ اِذْ نَادٰى رَبَّهٗۤ اَنِّيْ مَسَّنِيَ الضُّرُّ وَ اَنْتَ اَرْحَمُ الرّٰحِمِيْنَۚۖ فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهٗ فَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهٖ مِنْ ضُرٍّ

“We bestowed (the same wisdom, judgement and knowledge) upon Ayub (Job). Recall, when he cried to his Lord: "Behold, disease has struck me and You are the Most Merciful of those that are merciful." We accepted his prayer and removed the affliction from him.” Al-Anbiyaa  (21: 83-84)

وَ اِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِيْنِ۪ۙ

“And Who, when I am ill, heals me.” Ash-Shu'araa (26: 80)

The Messenger of Allah (p.b.u.h.) said that Allah has not created any disease incurable; some of the people know its treatment and some don’t.   In Islamic literature, there is a huge rich content on Quranic and Prophetic medicine. Several doctors are doing research on this area of medicine.

In the past, Muslim doctors contributed a lot in the field of medicine. The most prominent name among them is Abū ʿAlī al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Sīnā (Avicenna) (b. 980-d. 1037). The world knows him as doctor of doctors. His most famous works are The Book of Healing, a vast philosophical and scientific encyclopaedia, and The Canon of Medicine, which was a standard medical text at many medieval universities. The Canon of Medicine was used as a text-book in the universities of Montpellier and Leuven as late as 1650. Ibn Sīnā's Canon of Medicine provides a complete system of medicine.


The Knowledge of History

The knowledge of history of mankind, its start, its phases, the history of prophets and Messengers of Allah, the history of ancestors, history of great people, and scholars of Islam are imperative to learn. Quran mentions and explains the most successful people and nation of the world and reasons of their success. Quran also mentions and explains the most failed people and nation of the world and reasons of their failure. Quran explains not only bookish knowledge but the knowledge with observation and by travelling.

اَفَلَمْ يَسِيْرُوْا فِي الْاَرْضِ فَيَنْظُرُوْا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْؕ

“Have these people not travelled in the earth that they may observe the end of their predecessors?”  Yusuf  (12: 109)


Who is responsible to revive this education system in the world? It is obvious that the responsibilities exclusively lie on the shoulders of Muslims.

كُنْتُمْ خَيْرَ اُمَّةٍ اُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَاْمُرُوْنَ بِالْمَعْرُوْفِ وَ تَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَ تُؤْمِنُوْنَ بِاللّٰهِ١ؕ

“You are now the best people brought forth for (the guidance and reform of) mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah.”  Al-i'Imran (3: 110)

لْتَكُنْ مِّنْكُمْ اُمَّةٌ يَّدْعُوْنَ اِلَى الْخَيْرِ وَ يَاْمُرُوْنَ بِالْمَعْرُوْفِ وَ يَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ١ؕ وَ اُولٰٓىِٕكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُوْنَ

 “And from among you there must be a party who invite people to all that is good and enjoin the doing of all that is right and forbid the doing of all that is wrong. It is they who will attain true success.” Al-i'Imran (3: 104)


اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتّٰى يُغَيِّرُوْا

“There are guardians over everyone, both before him and behind him, who guard him by Allah's command. Verily Allah does not change a people's condition unless they change their inner selves. And when Allah decides to make a people suffer punishment, no one can avert it. Nor can any be of help to such a people against Allah.” Ar-Ra'd (13: 11)


The purpose to revive an education system is that the people may face all the issues and challenges of this world of all spheres of life by obeying the guidance and commandments of Allah (s.t.).

وَ مَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَ الْاِنْسَ اِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوْنِ

“I created the jinn and humans for nothing else but that they may serve Me.” Az-Zariyat (51: 56)
