A Call to Reclaim Our Values: The Truth Behind Pride Day

A Call to Reclaim Our Values: The Truth Behind Pride Day

Jawed Anwar

ON Sunday, June 29, 2025, cities across Canada, including Toronto, will host the annual Gay Pride Parade. This event, celebrated as a symbol of inclusion, raises profound questions about the direction of our society.

According to the 2021 Census by Statistics Canada, only 0.33% of Canadians aged 15 and older—roughly 100,815 out of 30.5 million—identify as transgender or non-binary. Yet, this small minority appears to wield disproportionate influence over education, government, and societal norms, reshaping the values of the remaining 99.7% of Canadians.

This unprecedented shift challenges the rights of parents, people of faith, and those who uphold traditional family values to live according to their beliefs. Increasingly, these groups find their freedoms curtailed, unable to educate their children or practice their lifestyles without interference. What we are witnessing is not merely a cultural change but a fundamental redefinition of human nature, biology, and morality—a phenomenon unparalleled in history.

The sanctity of human life, the most precious creation, is at stake. By rejecting biological realities, the promotion of transgenderism and same-sex lifestyles undermines the natural process of human reproduction. If humanity’s continuation depends on the family unit, then celebrating ideologies that reject this foundation risks the very survival of our species. As cutting down trees disrupts the environment, severing the roots of the human race threatens the planet’s future.

Historically, no civilization has elevated what major religions—Christianity, Islam, Judaism—define as sin to the status of a "human right." The story of Prophet Lut (Lot) in the Bible and Quran (Al Quran 7:80-81) describes homosexuality as an unnatural act, unknown before his time, driven by the worship of lust over divine order. These faiths, rooted in Abrahamic tradition, call for breaking the idols of desire to protect the sanctity of life, including the right of future generations to exist.

Yet, in Canada, political forces—particularly the Liberals and NDP—actively champion these ideologies, while many Conservatives appear to acquiesce, abandoning their principles. This is not progress; it is a betrayal of the values that built our society. Promoting these lifestyles wages war on human nature, the family, and the very existence of humanity itself.

We, the 99.7% of Canadians who cherish faith, family, and the natural order, must unite. This is not a call to hate but a plea to protect. It is a religious and moral duty to stand for what is right, as the Quran states: “You are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong” (Sura Al-e Imran 3:110). Supporting policies, parties, and candidates that celebrate these lifestyles contradicts this duty and endangers our collective future.

June 29 should not be a day of pride but a moment of reflection—a call to reclaim the values that sustain humanity. Let us stand together, not in shame, but in defense of life, family, and the divine order that has guided civilizations for millennia.
